South African Wine Industry
South Africa is currently the world’s seventh largest producer of wine. The wine industry accounts for 4.6% of the Western Cape’s GDP and is the nation’s biggest permanent employer in agriculture.

However, since the beginning of South Africa’s long history with wine, the industry has been almost completely saturated with wine companies owned and operated by white men. Thankfully, a group of individuals has been working tirelessly to make changes.
