Land Reform

While they were establishing the Seven Sisters Wine brand, Vivian and her sisters realised that, to truly reach their dreams, they had to find a home for their business where they could grow and maintain their own vineyards.

They approached the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform and in 2009 they were awarded 8,7 hectares of land in Stellenbosch.

The land belongs to a trust that is registered in the names of 31 family members. It, however, benefits over 52 people.

Vivian, her son and two workers started transforming the piece of land while the other family members continued with their daily jobs to ensure that their daily food is taken care of. In 2013 they established the vineyards on Seven Sisters Farm and planted 3 hectares of Chardonnay. In 2014 they planted 2 hectares of Shiraz.
